Objectives of EAAIA

  Advance the art and science of impact assessment and its application at national, regional and international levels.

   Support development of national EA capacity to enhance sustainable development and improved socio-economic welfare in Eastern Africa through effective use of EA.

   Provide forums for exchange of ideas to stimulate innovation in the application and effective use of EIA as a planning and decision making tool in Eastern Africa .

   Establish and maintain an EA information Center that will facilitate harmonization of EA methodologies and practice and enhance conservation and management of natural resources and environment in Eastern Africa .

   Support national associations and local level initiatives in impact assessment
